    Question

Would it be a code violation to run 14/2 AC90 (BX) thru [at most] 2 meters of 1/2" or 3/4" EMT? Or do you have to strip it for the short run thru the EMT [using approved connectors], then flex the section that's to run down the steel stud wall to... say a plug?

The code book mentions using short runs of metal conduit for protective sleeving in 10-302(1)(b).

A couple of years ago I went on a service call to check out an isolated ground receptacle, the computer keep locking up when ever they used that receptacle, yet if they switched to a regular receptacle the computer ran fine. What someone had did is start of using bx cable then they pushed about 20 feet of cable into 1/2 inch emt down to the receptacle. I came to the conclusion if you use a flex to emt connector where the bx enters the emt, the computer would run okay. Because the bx wasn't bonded to the emt I believe thats what the problem was. Has anybody else seen this happen?
